Ocimum basilicum hairy root
culture extract (Basil)

100% natural certification.  An anti-aging extract.

Ocimum basilicum hairy root culture extract is the extract of a culture of the hairy root cells of Ocimum basilicum L., (Lamiaceae), otherwise commonly known as Basil, used as a culinary herb in  cooking.

Basil itself is often quoted as being the 'King of the herbs'. The word basil comes from the Greek word basileus = "king". The plant was also believed to have been used in production of royal perfumes.

In fact, Basil is still considered the "king of herbs" by many cookery book authors

Basil Roots

The three major functions of roots are

  1. absorption of water and inorganic nutrients
  2. anchoring of the plant body to the ground
  3. storage of food and nutrients

The roots also synthesize cytokinin, which acts as a signal as to how fast the shoots can grow.

The roots of most vascular plant species enter into symbiosis with certain fungi and a large range of other organisms including bacteria.
